I had long dreamed of seeing Greece and Turkey for their immense history, art, and culture, though I’ll admit I arrived with some hesitation. Surrounded by 27 fellow travelers, mostly older and far more culturally Korean than I am, I initially felt somewhat out of place. But travel has a wonderful way of humbling assumptions. Once I chose to embrace the experience, what first felt unfamiliar became deeply enriching. My fellow travelers broadened my perspective, and the journey became all the more meaningful for it.
What truly distinguished this tour was the extraordinary professionalism behind it. The agency owners’ 30+ years of experience were evident throughout. In Greece, we benefited from the owner’s constant presence alongside a brilliant local Korean guide who had lived there for 47 years; in Turkey, an equally seasoned Korean guide and Turkish assistant ensured every detail unfolded seamlessly.
From luxurious five-star hotels and surprisingly excellent meals to thoughtfully timed restroom breaks, well-planned shopping opportunities near the journey’s end, and even perfectly scheduled Korean meals just when we began craving familiar comfort, the trip was orchestrated with remarkable care. The final dinner—at an elegant penthouse overlooking the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia—was a breathtaking conclusion.
My wife and I came seeking the wonders of ancient civilizations, and we found them—but we also gained an unexpected cultural experience, new appreciation, and genuine gratitude.. Overall, this was a beautifully curated journey and one I will remember with fondness.
